Advento Star Women Case

ADVENTO STAR WOMEN'S
'WOMEN WORKING IN TECH INSIGHTS'
LONDON TECH WEEK 2019

The Challenge:

Advento Staffing is a Kent-based technology recruitment company founded in 2011. As part of its dedication to bridging the diversity gap in the tech industry, Advento established its 'Advento Star Women' division to increase the number of women in high-level roles and advise organisations on attraction, retention and recruitment of the best female talent.

Advento wanted to improve their services by gaining a better understanding of the experiences of women who currently work or previously worked in business or technology. They had previously enlisted our support in expanding their reach and promoting their services as one of our ongoing retainer clients, and called on us again to delve deeper into this specific area of their business.

The Solution:

We began by running a SurveyMonkey survey containing a blend of scale and open-ended questions. The open-ended questions allowed the respondents to share their own experiences, thoughts, and attitudes about their time working in the industry. The survey sample was made up of 100 female professionals ranging from their early 20s to their 50s, from entry level to senior executives, and who were either still working in the industry or had chosen to leave it. The survey was distributed by individual outreach to women in the industry, and widely through Advento's social media accounts.

The responses produced fascinating results, which we then translated into an eye-catching and informative infographic. The infographic was shared online through Advento's social media accounts, and integrated into a blog post on Advento's website discussing the major findings of the survey.

The survey was so successful that it inspired Advento Staffing to host a 'Women Working in Tech Insights' event during London Tech Week 2019. We handled the promotion for the event, primarily utilising the power of social media to get the word out. The aim of the event was to share the findings in detail, examine the industry as a whole, and discuss the future. Katie served as a keynote speaker and panelist on the night.

The event was a major success, with over 40 professionals in attendance.
